Townsville Cyclones Wheelchair Basketball team has secured a new sponsor with disability employment service, Joblife Employment, providing financial support for the next 12 months.
The sponsorship will provide funding for uniforms and contribute to transport costs and upgraded signage on the team’s trailer.
CEO for Joblife Employment, Nunzia Confessore, said she was delighted to be able to contribute to the team’s on-going success.
“One of the team members, Natalie Curtis, is our local employment consultant and we felt it was important to show our support to Natalie and her local team,” she said.
“Natalie and the team are closely aligned with what the Joblife brand represents – diversity and inclusion. Like us they are about teamwork, opportunity and resilience.”
Donna Hicks, Regional Development Manager for Sporting Wheelies and Disabled Association, welcomed the sponsorship announcement.
“This is great news for wheelchair basketball in Townsville. The funding will allow us to enhance and promote the sport across Northern Queensland,” she said.
“We are very appreciative of the support Joblife has shown to us and through this partnership we can realise our organisations’ shared goals.”
Joblife Employment is a partnership between Australia’s largest social purpose organisation, Life Without Barriers, and disability employment and training provider, Angus Knight.
