Mohamed Issa started his business, Issatec, three years ago, running it from his garage on his own.
Fast forward three years and he is now operating his precision electronic assembly factory in a 600sqm warehouse with eight employees.
He attributes this rapid growth to hard work and meeting customers’ expectations regarding the quality of work required. His business now provides services to the medical, audio and visual industry and he has a contract for assembly of streetlights.
A strong believer in providing a safe, inclusive and diverse workplace, Mohamed approached five star disability employment service provider, Jobfind, a partner in Joblife Employment, to find suitable employees for the business.
“I needed someone to help with the packing of products, but they had to be flexible around the hours and times when we need them. Jobfind screened applicants and found us an employee who was willing to fit in with our requirements and they have been here for a year.
“The second time we contacted Jobfind was to find someone who would be able to help on the assembly line. Age or disability was no barrier, it was a case of finding someone who had the right skills.
“The successful applicant has now been with us for six months. One of the drills he was using was too heavy. Jobfind purchased a lighter drill so he could stay in the job.”
Mohamed said it was this kind of service from Jobfind that made the employment of people with a disability easy and simple.
“I don’t have time to interview, place ads for vacancies or screen the applicants. Jobfind took all that away, prepared all the paperwork and followed up to see that everything was going OK.
“The wage subsidies I’ve received have been put back into the business so everyone benefits.”
Mohamed said he would have no hesitation in recommending Jobfind.
“They go above and beyond. The pre-screening and job matching means we get suitable candidates who are reliable and good at the job.”
