Kane registered with Joblife when he was in year 11. Our team in QLD assisted him to secure a Certificate III Individual support to complete a school-based traineeship with Centacare.

As a young man with autism, Kane was inspired to enrol in this course as he has been a support for his older sister with disability for most of his life.

In addition to his study Joblife, helped Kane secure a traineeship one day a week in respite centres of supported accommodation. He also worked fortnightly supporting young people with disability on their social outings.

During his final 2 years of school Joblife has helped Kane stay on track with his training as well as communicating with his employer and supervisors to ensure he had everything he needed. This also allowed him to secure his first aid certificate and learners licence.

Kane completed his Certificate III in March this year. His role at the supported accommodation centres has been put on hold due to COVID-19 but this has led Kane to re-register with Joblife with the goals of getting his provisional licence, completing additional study and returning to work soon.
